Alpha Controls Expands Calibration Laboratory with New and Enhanced Capabilities

Lab expansion broadens calibration services across sound, dimensional, chemical, temperature, pressure, flow and gas measurement

Markham, ON – September 2026 – Alpha Controls & Instrumentation Inc. is pleased to announce a significant expansion of its calibration laboratory, introducing new services and enhancing existing capabilities to support a broader range of customer calibration requirements.

The investment includes new sound calibration and dimensional calibration services, along with expanded chemical calibration capabilities, high-temperature, high-pressure and gas flow calibration capabilities, as well as gas detector and analyzer calibration.

These new and enhanced capabilities provide customers with greater access to the calibration services they need. With more of their equipment now able to be calibrated by Alpha Controls, they can spend less time managing multiple vendors and more time focused on their business, with the confidence of knowing their equipment is in the hands of a partner they already know and trust.

“There’s a lot of work, expertise and precision behind bringing new capabilities into a calibration lab,” said Slava Peciurov, Lab Manager at Alpha Controls. “Our team has put a tremendous amount into building these services, and we’re proud to have them ready and available for our customers.”

Alpha Controls’ new sound calibration service supports sound level meters and noise dosimeters used for workplace health and safety, environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance and noise control. The service covers a wider range of sound pressure levels and frequencies, using NIST-traceable standards. ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is currently under development.

The addition of dimensional calibration allows Alpha Controls to service a wide range of precision measurement instruments used in quality control, inspection and manufacturing, including calipers, micrometers, depth and height gauges, thickness gauges and other dimensional equipment. A2LA accreditation for this capability is currently in progress.

Alpha Controls has also strengthened several of their existing calibration services:
•    High-temperature calibration now extends to 1200°C, including full-range Noble thermocouple calibration without extrapolation.
•    High-pressure calibration now reaches 20,000 psi and primary dead weight tester now achieves uncertainties as low as ±0.006%.
•    Chemical calibration now includes viscosity calibration for a broad range of dynamic and kinematic viscometers.
•    Gas flow calibration supports flow rates up to 1,000 SLM.

These expanded capabilities are ISO/IEC 17025 accredited and included in Alpha Controls’ A2LA scope.

Alpha Controls has also expanded its services to include calibration for a wide range of gas detectors and analyzers, supporting both toxic and non-toxic gases using reference gases with national and international traceability.

Together, these additions strengthen Alpha Controls’ ability to support customers across industries including pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, manufacturing, food and beverage, environmental monitoring and research, while providing greater access to specialized calibration expertise in Canada.

The new and expanded calibration capabilities are available now.
